It comes from Manchester!
Well that’s where I first encountered this way of thinking.
Two counsellors and trainers – Celia Hindmarch and Veronica Morrell – ran an experimental weekend course called Women in Transition. It was cutting edge, researched backed thinking about making and managing change more comfortably.
The weekend was 24th and 25th April 1993. It really doesn’t seem that long ago to me. I remember the specific dates because it was my birthday weekend.
Over the years I used the techniques with friends and colleagues in and out of work.
While running a group in 2015 I had a glorious ‘I should be doing this’ moment. Stoan Method was born.
What followed was a process of developing, testing and refining it to make Stoan Method accessible and affordable.
Life coaches use similar techniques, and many more, in a longer and typically more expensive coaching relationship.
My priority is sharing these very effective techniques quickly to give you fast insight and to get you off to a great start getting on with things you want to change, things you want to do.
